AIADMK has been going through a rough patch after the demise of Jayalaithaa and in the latest development the meeting chaired by Edappadi Palanisamy has passed a resolution that the appointment of TTV Dinakaran as Dy Gen Sec is invalid and all appointments to the party posts made by him also stand inavlid.
An appeal has been made to the cadres to ignore the activities of Dinakaran. The factionalism war has peaked out and now it will be interesting to watch what stand O. Panneerselvam faction is going to take.
According to reliable sources, It is learnt that BJP is advising both EPS and OPS groups to merge at the earliest and it is expected that some compromise formula will be worked out to satify both the factions.
O Panneerselvam may be offered the post of Deputy CM and a key party post and a couple of his MLAs may be offered ministerial berths.
It is now clear that Dinakaran has been sidelined completely but he won't keep quiet as he claims the support of atleast 20 MLAs which is enough to topple this govt. Both EPS and OPS will be looking to BJP to save this government and it is going to be a big challenge for BJP to keep the flock together. With BJP president Amit shah expected to visit TN shortly, we can expect more developments . If BJP can ensure the safety of this government, it will be a big boost for their ambition to spread their presence in TN with a possible alliance for future elections.
