Vikatan Televistas established 13 years ago
Barely 10 years since inception, Vikatan Televistas broke a myth of TV - that Southern content cannot entertain the Hindi heartland! Since June, 2009, its blockbuster 'Thirumathi Selvam' (2007 onwards, Tamil, 1000 episodes and ticking) has been produced in 5 different Indian languages, including Hindi - and has been a top rated show in all of them, entertaining viewers all over India, everyday between 7.30PM and 10PM
Vikatan Televistas, established 13 years ago, had a humble beginning with one weekly half an hour serial 'Akshaya' (1998) in Tamil. Today the company is proud to be among the largest and most profitable fiction houses in the country, across Indian languages. It has produced blockbusters like 'Kolangal' (2003-2009, 1533 episodes which is being remade in Kannada, Bengali and Hindi), 'Thendral' (2009 onwards, Tamil, about 500 episodes and running, being remade in Telegu and Malayalam) and has recently launched a late night show 'Azhagi' on Sun TV, totaling about 4000 hours of original content under its belt and adding 27.5 hours a week from 11 shows, broadcasting everyday on 6 channels including Star Plus and Zee TV, including licensing and co-production arrangements. Vikatan Televistas has also produced 2 feature films in Tamil, of which its debut film, Siva Manasule Sakthi (SMS) was a hit, especially among the youth.
